World water day

Pupils of the 3rd and 4th classes went to the Vihorlat museum to learn as many interesting things as possible about water in the form of experiential learning on the occasion of World Water Day. The program was tempting. Right at the beginning, the students listened to a thematic interactive lecture, which was connected with a discussion. It emphasized the importance of water, the need to protect water resources and the individual’s right to access to safe water. The students learned where water is found everywhere, what the water cycle is like in nature, and about the wastewater treatment plant. Information about the Starine reservoir and the fact that swimming, boating, and fishing are prohibited in it did not escape their attention. This was followed by practical creative activities and games. These were focused on the importance of water in the ecosystem of the planet. Based on the acquired knowledge, the students created a basic management of water available for everyone. The aim of these activities was to help understand the importance and protection of water in a playful way. The third point of the event was a guided tour of the reinstalled natural history exhibit.
